High Performance DSRC reader CD600 (REDCR)

Our flexible REDCR (Early Detection  Communication Reader) solution for enforcement authorities can be installed in a vehicle, on the road side and even on a bridge.

Main features:

  • Can be used for mobile and stationary controls.

  • The high performance DSRC transceiver can capture RTM data at speeds up to 200 km/h.

  • RTM data is decrypted by our CD600 Android App which shows the result on a robust tablet.

  • RTM data can be shared in real time in the cloud and seen on any device that can access a webpage.
This allow other control agents to choose which vehicule to check at another location.

Android device specifications:

  • OTG support required.

  • Large display recommended.

  • Charging possibility while using the OTG recommended (ie: wireless charging or POGO connector)

Selected Android device: Samsung Galaxy Active 2 or 3 with our custom holder/card reader

Hardware specifications:

  • Max vehicle speed: >200 km/h

  • Typical range: 10m (can be used on a bridge).

  • Supply voltage: 9-36VDC

  • Power consumption: 18W (1.5A at 12V, 750mA at 24V)

Mobile control

The DSRC antenna can be mounted on the rear windshield of a vehicle using suction cup.

Advantage:
- Only one enforcement vehicle is required as the same officers can stop the truck for further investigation.

Disadvantage:
- The relative speed between the truck and the enforcement vehicle is limited by the traffic.
This strongly limits the number of truck scanned.
- Overtaking at high speed represents some risks.

Our experience in Belgium:
On Belgian motoways in december 2020, we got an average of one RTM data capture on 10 minutes drive.

Stationary control

The DSRC antenna can be used on the road side or on a bridge using a tripod.

Advantage:

- The relative speed is constantly around 90km/h which results in a high number of truck scanned.
- No risk of accident.

Disadvantage:
- Requires at least one additional vehicle to stop the truck for further control.

Our experience in Belgium:
On Belgian motoways in december 2020, we got an average of one RTM data capture per minute.

Conclusion:
The efficiency of a stationary control is around ten times higher than a mobile control.
Even if a minimum of two vehicles is required, we still get five times more results.

Stationary control is five times more efficient
